Slowly, but surely my Wordpress blog is being updated how I want it! i am still working on getting this one saved and printed. Four years of memories in this precious blog…..
I am looking into using a new hosting site and trying to figure out if it is going to be worth it.
Thanks for your patience.
I have piccies I need to download - sorry - soon….in the meantime how about this little story.
Most days this weeks Abigail has come home with her cute little British accent back. On about Wednesday she finally told me that they have a new girl in class called Grace and she is from Ireland. Then yesterday she told me her and Grace ride the bus home together.
I wonder if Grace knows she is having such and influence on Abigail!
jacob, is just a little in love with these guys at the moment and he is totally convienced that WE are the Power Rangers.
David is Red Rangers because he is very strong. Jacob is the Green Ranger because he is a fast runner. Graham is the Blue Ranger. I am the Yellow Ranger. Abigail is the Pink Ranger.
All this is reality and true if you are ‘four and a half’. Note he is not four! ;0)
When you ask him how fast he is he runs the circle in the house as fast as he can!
It’s been a while since Abigail had us in stitches with laughter, but tonight while I was doing laundry and she was in the bath we had a conversation that went something like this.
Abigail, ‘Mom, is there any way at all that a fish can get in your bath?’
Me, ‘No. None at all.’
Abigail, ‘Are you absolutely sure?’
Me, ‘Absolutely sure.’
I waited a few minutes and asked ‘Did you think there was a fish in your bath?’
Abigail, ‘No, I was just checking.’
The day after the massage oil I found laundry soap in the dogs bowls. There is nothing else to say about that!
This morning I asked Abigail and Jacob if they wanted to go see the justin Beiber movie with me….
Abigail: Oh yesssssssssssssssssssssss!
Jacon: ummm nah. Is Dad going?
Me: No
Jaocb: Yesssssssssssssss
Graham: That kid is one smart kid.
I love my life. <3
But this post is sooooo not what you are thinking based on the title!
February 14, 2011 started like any other day. But by midafternoon is was obvious that something had gotten into Jacob! This boy is lucky to still be alive in more ways than one at 6:30 at night.
Graham has taken over for a few minutes and I decided to blog because I know that one day I will laugh at all this.
First I must say that Jacob wasn’t on my best side because shortly after preschool I followed my nose to find a pair of poopie undies in the dirty clothes basket. I guess he decided pooping his pants was better than missing a couple minutes of Power Rangers. It was nasty. He was nasty and I nearly threw up.
Then a couple hours later I was fixing dinner and kept hearing crashing type noises so I shouted upstairs ‘Jacob are you ok?’
‘Ya, mom. I’m fine!’ he replied.
I assumed he was in his room ‘being a boy’. Well, I was right about one thing….he was ‘being a boy’. He was not in his room however.
Anyway, a few minutes later he came downstairs and was sitting on the couch and I noticed his undies looked wet. So I touched them. They weren’t wet, so I smelled my fingers.
My thought process then went something like this….
Not pee
Not water
kinda feels like oil
kinda smells like ummmmm lavender
please no, no, no, nooooooooooooooooooo
Run up to the master bedroom and *BAM* the smell hits me like a 2x4. The smell of massage oil. I scan the room and all over MY SIDE OF THE BEDROOM FLOOR is the scene of the crime…….half a bottle of lavender massage oil all over the floor.
Thankfully it was 5pm and I knew all I had to do was hold my ‘cool’ for about 10 minutes and Graham would be home. I’m not sure I did very well, but everyone is still alive and Graham talked to Jacob. Jacob told me he was sorry.
Graham later told me that Jacob had told him he was ‘ice skating’ and it was really slippery and ALL he was doing was seeing how slippery he could get it. I wasn’t very mad after he told me all that.
PS To get massage oil off laminate flooring wipe with a dry cloth and then mop with dishwashing liquid and a little water. It comes up a treat!
Wow, last week we had the strangest ice storm! It came in 2 rounds both about 12 hours with about a 8-10 hour break in between. This photo was taken after the first day of being stuck inside. It looks like snow, but I can assure you it is SOLID ICE! Look at our feet - we are standing on it!
Not much shuts down Indianapolis, but this storm did! Have you ever tried to clear around 6 inches of solid ice off your drive. Not gonna happen. A friend of mine was so fed up yesterday that she took a sledge hammer to it….and broke the sledge hammer!
However, school is back. We had 3 days off so they could get the schools and main roads clear. Our drive is still a sheet of solid ice, but temps are suposed to be above freezing today and tmorrow, so we are hoping for a bit of melting!
Last night I was going a bit fast and slid right past our drive! That is with many snow plows going past and at least 2 rounds of salt/grit that have been dumped as well! Good job we live on a quiet close
We went sledding last Saturday and the ice storm hit monday night. It was fab, but this picture about sums it all up really….David pulling the kiddios UP the hill!
We did have alot of fun and there was a suprising amount of snow on the hill since it hadn’t actually snowed in over a week.
This was another activity in which Jacob showed NO FEAR whatsoever and infact couldn’t seem to go fast or far enough
I must also add that sledding (and infact any outdoor activity) is so much nicer when we have all the proper gear. Snow pants, boots, hat gloves, scarfs, Jacob even has a full face mask since his little cheeks would always suffer.
I am so sorry I have let this blog slide! i know we have several family who follow this for stories and pictures of the kiddios/house/our lives.
It has been a couple interesting weeks and it all started with redoing Abigail’s room! I am still searching for a final few things for the walls and am still searching for Abigail’s definition of perfect ‘pillows’ for the chest seat and bed, but she loves it anyway!
It went from pink to bright pink
