The tooth fairy

Well, I have about two minutes before I have to go get ready for church this morning. Graham has been ‘in jail’ all weekend talking to young offenders. It has been a beautiful weekend here and I have been decorating, so that next weekend I can put the 12 foot Christmas tree up. Yes, you heard that correctly TWELVE FOOT!!! WOOHOOO!

Anyway, I digress….Abigail lost her first tooth this week. It was really lose and she asked Graham to actually pull it! She was so excited she woke at 11pm to see if she’d been and then 2am to make sure her money was still there! LOL

Here she is in all her gappy glory!

Trick or treat

Trick or treating! Abigail and Jacob went trick or treaing with my cousins Nicholas and Casey! It was so much fun. Jacob was just recovering from a bout of pneumonia and it was really cold so they only made it to about 20 or so houses, but they had so much fun!

The quote of the night has to go to Nicholas when he dumped out all his candy and declared ‘I did good work!’ It was so cool!

We came home and had hot chocolate and chilli to warm up.

2nd thought for the day

Life really boils down to 2 questions…

1. Should I get a dog….?

OR…

2. Should I have children?

a Prayer

I started this blog to keep our family overseas up to date on things going on in our lives and that still remains the primary reason I blog, but I was sent something that spoke deeply to me and I wanted to share it.

Let the rain come and wash away
the ancient grudges, the bitter hatreds
held and nurtured over generations.
Let the rain wash away the memory
of the hurt, the neglect.
Then let the sun come out and
fill the sky with rainbows.
Let the warmth of the sun heal us
wherever we are broken.
Let it burn away the fog so that
we can see each other clearly.
So that we can see beyond labels,
beyond accents, gender or skin color.
Let the warmth and brightness
of the sun melt our selfishness.
So that we can share the joys and
feel the sorrows of our neighbors.
And let the light of the sun
be so strong that we will see all
people as our neighbors.
Let the earth, nourished by rain,
bring forth flowers
to surround us with beauty.
And let the mountains teach our hearts
to reach upward to heaven.

Amen.

We love these two little puppies!

They are as crazy as can be, but at night they snuggle up with us and watch the TV or play on the laptop!

Birthday Bash!

It was Autumn’s birthday a couple weeks ago and Evan took this picture for Autumn and I to go in a frame that I bought her! Since I’m rarely on this side of the camera I thought I’d share & prove that I am still alive!

It is fall break here yesterday - tomorrow, so we are hoping to get out and do a few things like the zoo and the children’s museem since we have passes for both that we bought earlier in the year. Both have Halloween themes going on this month! (Sharon, I thought of you and knew you’d love that!)
